In fact, multiple tests are often unnecessary, as your medical history and physical symptoms can let an experienced doctor know if you need testing for celiac disease, infections, and other possible causes of your symptoms. IBS is usually diagnosed by symptoms and the Rome criteria used by gastroenterologists.
